A Whole New World

Preschool years were over.  Sean just entered Grade 1 in Dee Hwa Liong Academy (Chinese school)located in Marcos Hi-way, Pasig City.  It is a new world for him and he will really have a huge adjustment in regards to studies.  He was so excited on his first day of school. He was excited to wear his new uniform, shoes, to pull his first ever wheeler bag with his books, notebooks, promotional pens, and other supplies in it.  But of course he was so excited on his new lunch bag and to meet new friends.

At 7 in the morning on June 15, 2010 his school service fetch him up, but since it was the first day of school, I decided to go with him to guide him to his second home.  We met his cousin, Cyrus who happened to be his classmate.  While me and my sister-in-law, Cris enjoyed watching what they did on the first part of the class, I am very sure that Sean was kinda nervous when he was the first one to introduced himself in front of the class.  But he did it!!!  Now what I am praying is that he can cope up with his studies easily.  I know it would be hard for him and me of course as his tutor.  But I know God will give wisdom and courage to face his whole new world.

Happy Easter Sunday

Another Holy Week has passed, another Catholic Christian activities were done.  It started on Palm Sunday and lasted today, Easter Sunday. As usual I attended the procession of Our Lady of Abadoned Church (OLA) in Marikina on Holy Wednesday and Good Friday.  I am a St. Jude Thaddeus follower and been doing it for 30 years.  I started at an early age and now doing it with Sean Kirk. At an early age of 6, I am not expecting him to finish the procession because it’s really tiring so it ended up with riding on St. Jude’s float (karo).  Thank God that he doesn’t need an allergy bedding to sleep soundly those exhausting nights.  That’s one thing that I should be thankful to God.Sean is such a healthy young boy. :D
Today, we attended a mass.  It is  so meaningful and first time I attended an Easter mass, that after the homily, Father Arnel, the Parish Priest of Our Lady of Fatima in Greenpark Village, Cainta, Rizal asked the parishioners to put out the candles that we brought and let the Lay Ministers lit the candles and it’s like were being rebaptized.  I regret that I didn’t able to bring candle with me.  I can say generally that I did good this year’s holy week as I observed it wholeheartedly.  How did you spend yours?

Julio Iglesias in Manila

I was able to avail 5 complimentary tickets of Julio Iglesias’ Heart of Gold concert here in Manila.  I got the tickets from our office, which I think gave away 200 compli tickets.  It was held at Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Q.C. on March 20, 2010 at 9 pm.  Julio is the famous Spanish singer who has sold over 200 million albums all over the world in multi languages.  At the age of 67 (born on September 23, 1943) he is still so dynamic and his voice is still powerful.  I wonder if he uses enzyte or other food supplements to keep him active and looks young.
Julio sang 2 hours straight, the only rest he had is when Sharon Cuneta sang her part on their duets.. :D  Yes! Sharon guested that night and she did 2 songs with him.  One English and one Tagalog song.  But I was quite disappointed because Iglesias didn’t sing his famous song “To All The Girls I’ve Loved Before”.  It’s not only me who’s expecting it because I heard some shouting… “To All The Girls, To All The Girls!!!”  But it’s ok.  The concert ended at 11 pm and thank God that Sean Kirk, Gina, my neighbors Vangie and son John and of course me reached home safe and sound.

My Dream Summer Vacation

Boracay!!!  My dream summer vacation.  The picture shown is the perfect view for me.  I love the sunset as well as the sunrise.  I love the color blend of these times of the day. So relaxing…  Isn’t it lovely???  Glad that people nowadays are educated on how to keep our environment clean.  Some of us undergo green study especially the environmentalists.  Mall owners has their way of informing the public on keeping green environment by promoting green bags rather than plastic bags.  But this would be more effective if they give it for free, right? :D

How I wish I could visit this place the soonest time.  I’m sure Sean Kirk will enjoy the water and the scenery too.  I would like to experience it’s white sand, cool water and the night life…. Haaayyyy…. Ok time to go back to the real world :D

Sean’s First Pet

I just bought Sean his new and first ever pet… a pair of  hamster.  He’s been requesting this for weeks now after he saw the cartoon movie “Bolt”.  I surprised him one afternoon bringing home  the hamsters and it’s perfect timing coz he have to bring pet in school, Green Gables Academy for a pet show.  He went home with a red ribbon saying “lovable pet”.  Just wondering if these animals has rabbies?  Anyways, I think I have to get NC health insurance for both of us.

I got these pets together with the complete set of cage and foods (Sunflower seeds) for 680 pesos at Peppy’s Pet Shop in Cainta, Rizal.  Sean Kirk really enjoys these lovable and cute mammals that he already forgot to play his other toys.  By the way he named them Dora and Diego. :D
