The Joy of Having a Child

Having a child is the most precious gift I received from God. I was so excited when I learned about the baby inside my womb. Though I knew it when I’m nearly on they 7th month of pregnancy. Weird huh? Long story…

I was so excited and realized that I only have short time left to buy some stuffs for my baby. I went to the department store and enjoyed window shopping first. Then I decided to buy layette set and other infant clothings so that he (learned it would be a boy) have something to wear. Then went to baby cribs section and bought one too together with pillows, blanket and bed sheets. Oh yes! I bought feeding bottles too.

Sean was born on November 10, 2003. Yes he’s turning 6 next month :) Time really flies soooo fast. Few months after he was born, I bought a baby stroller to roam him around and baby gym and play mat which I know will help his motor and cognitive development. Now that he’s a preschooler, I bought him some educational toys, kiddie books, and toy chest to put all his stuffs in. He learned that easily ;)   Oh! by the way I just bought him a kiddie wardrobe and saw a big smile on his face.

I don’t know if you parents out there would agree with me that we like to give the best to our children even it means spending everything to them and nothing left to us. And give them the best education by sending them to good schools because I believe that it’s the only thing that we can give them that can’t be stolen by anyone.

Computer Hackers

Who are these people? We call them computer geniuses.  These are the people who spend long time in front of the computer and eager to  to learn the computer system.  Computer Programmers perhaps? or any other computer bums.  For me it is not easy to access other’s files, websites, etc….  But how can they do the hacking? Do spyware softwares help them a lot.  Actually I have no idea.  But if this is their source, each and everyone of us must run an antispyware software in our computer to block those nosy hackers.

Because these spyware programs collect information about the users without their knowledge.  It was secretly installed on personal computers and monitor their activities.  They work like a real spy agent. So for those who don’t want to be hacked, start installing antispyware.  It will help you secure your computers. Am I right hackers?

The Spirit of Christmas

Christmas is the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Christ was born on this very special day.  Everybody is preparing and excited on this day.  Why?  Because this is the day of giving, the season of merriment through colorful decorations, like lantern, artificial christmas trees and christmas lights.  This is also the time of exchanging gifts, buying new clothes and toys for our loved ones and the time to see our godchildren which we haven’t seen for a long time.

But whatever preparation we do for the coming day.  We must not forget to include going to Church and greet Jesus Christ a Happy Birthday (It’s His day anyways) :)   And make everyday a Christmas Day.

50 Ways to Save Today

I received an e-mail and I find this interesting.  Just wanna share…

Fifty Ways to Save

There may be ways that you can put hundreds of dollars back into your bank account each month, just by eliminating small things that you may not even realize you are paying so much for.

1.     Before making a purchase, ask yourself, “Is this necessary?”

Frivoulous spending on non-essentials increase debt and deplete your disposable income.  Shop smart and place your extra cash into a savings account.

2.   Get rid of call waiting, call forwarding, or automatic voicemail.

Ever since the introduction of the cellular phone, some household receive few calls on the landline phone.  If you seldom receive incoming calls on your house phone, cancel services such as call waiting or call forwarding.

3.     Replace the cellular phone with a prepaid mobile phone.

Exceeding your alloted free minutes will increase your total cellular phone bill.  If unable to control your rising bill, swithc to a pre-paid phone plan.

4.     Cancel your landline phone and use your cellular phone.

Because cellular phones offer free nights and weekends, plus unlimited long distant calling, there is little need for a landline phone.  When a telephone line is required for internet connection, switch to a high-speed cable modem and ditch the phone line.

5.     Use curtains of drapes to lower your heating and cooling expense.

Throughout the summer, shut the drapes to maintain cool room.  Opening curtains in the winter lets the sunlight heat the room.

6.     Turn off lights, television, and other electronics.

Before exiting a room or the house, make certain that all electronics are turned off.

7.     Save money on transportation.

Make carpool arrangements with a co-worker, or consider public transportation.  Use your personal automobile less and cut your monthly transportation cost in half.

8.     Trade-in the Gas Guzzler.

Trucks and sports utility vehicles have a special allure.  Still, the additional maintenace and fuel costs can exhaust your income.  If your profession entails a lot of road travel, save money with a smaller automobile.

9.     Combine errands.

Complete all your errands in one trip and save money on gas.

10.     Brown bag your lunch.

Reduce the number of times you eat out for lunch.  In its place, bring your lunch to work 2 – 3 times a week.

Technology For Kids

At 5 Sean loves to play video and computer games so much.  He is so techie that he knows how to operate computers, browse the internet and go to the sites he wanted.  Most of the games he play deals with cars.  Yes, he loves cars and loves to drive.  He even told me that when he grow up, he would buy a car of his own.  He is also so detailed with the car accessories and its color.  Hehehehehe…

Sean is not alone with this.  With the fast growing technology, it’s so amazing that children nowadays get along with the technology.  Internet is very effective with the students too.  They don’t need to go to the libraries and do the research.  I can say that the today’s generation are lucky.
