Christmas is Coming

Jingle bells, Jingle bells, Jingle all the way… Silent night, Holy night… Silver Bells, Silver bells, it’s Christmas time in the city… We can now hear Christmas songs over the radio and at the malls.  It’s already September and usuallychristmas preparation starts at this month.  Sales start in most of the malls and if you have money, why not grab the chance to buy Christmas gifts and decorations such as red led christmas lights for our Christmas trees at discounted price.  Do you think it’s the perfect time to do the shopping?

Mother’s Day Errands

I celebrated Mother’s Day with fulfillment.  No, I didn’t go to a parlor to do my hair, nails or foot spa.  No, I didn’t go to the mall to shop, dine or watch movie.  I was in my parents’ place since they were left alone (brother and his family went to Quezon for an outing).  Yes, I spent it with my mom!  Me and Sean went there and spent the long weekend.
Let me share you what I did for the whole weekend.  Me and my mom went to the market and I was the one who cooked for them.  My eldest brother sent his children (one just had circumcised) over the house and left them with me.  So okay, 3 kids and 2 senior citizens for Saturday.  Mind you this was the first time I saw a newly circumcised kid and my brother trusted me to dressed the cut! My sister-in-law went home on Sunday afternoon, but unfortunately the yaya was left in Quezon, and she had a bad headache.  Ok 3 kids + 2 kids = 5 naughty kids.  Can you imagine taking care of those kids?  Thank goodness that my mom can still do things at the age of 74.  She was the one who gave baths to the 2 girls and me with 4 males (3 boys and 1 man, my father).  Feed
the tots  and Tatay, dressed the cuts for 3 times :D
See the pics?  Aren’t they sooooo cute?  What are they doing with the computer? Mmmmmm… browsing youtube, atv, Y8, facebook?  whatever kept them busy that day, I was so thankful that they stayed in one place, rest from a day play and getting ready to take a bath :D
Ooops don’t get me wrong.  I am not complaining!  As a matter of fact, I enjoyed it.  I was a fulfilled mom that day!

Happy Easter Sunday

Another Holy Week has passed, another Catholic Christian activities were done.  It started on Palm Sunday and lasted today, Easter Sunday. As usual I attended the procession of Our Lady of Abadoned Church (OLA) in Marikina on Holy Wednesday and Good Friday.  I am a St. Jude Thaddeus follower and been doing it for 30 years.  I started at an early age and now doing it with Sean Kirk. At an early age of 6, I am not expecting him to finish the procession because it’s really tiring so it ended up with riding on St. Jude’s float (karo).  Thank God that he doesn’t need an allergy bedding to sleep soundly those exhausting nights.  That’s one thing that I should be thankful to God.Sean is such a healthy young boy. :D
Today, we attended a mass.  It is  so meaningful and first time I attended an Easter mass, that after the homily, Father Arnel, the Parish Priest of Our Lady of Fatima in Greenpark Village, Cainta, Rizal asked the parishioners to put out the candles that we brought and let the Lay Ministers lit the candles and it’s like were being rebaptized.  I regret that I didn’t able to bring candle with me.  I can say generally that I did good this year’s holy week as I observed it wholeheartedly.  How did you spend yours?

Valentines with Sean

Valentine’s Day is over.  Yes I had a date!  I started it attending a mass at 5:00 pm then went to Sta. Lucia East Grandmall with Sean Kirk.  Sean and I spent long time at World of Fun and he really had a good time playing and riding.  Good thing that I can still follow him fast even without taking glucosamine hcl for he is a very active boy. Hehehehe  We had a hearty meal at Reyes Barbecue where foods are yummy.  And of course I also bought our favorite siomai to fill our tummy.  It is nice to know that lot of people are still celebrating Heart’s Day be it with lovers, friends or family.  How did you celebrate yours?

New Year’s Madness

I went to the market on the last day of December to buy some foods for New Year’s Eve.  You just can’t imagine how crowded the place was.  Inspite of the increased price of meats, fruits, vegetables, fishes, and almost every single commodities when New Year comes, you can’t stop the Filipinos on buying foods and firecrackers for the New Year and it is because of the tradition we inherited from the Chinese.

Every year, one of our problem is gaining weight.  Yes! because holiday season is the time that we eat a lot.  Right?  So it become a problem on the first day of the year.  Guess treadmills will be a blockbuster in the gym. :D

What we are having for tonight? Mmmm… beef broccoli with oyster sauce, crispy pata, sopas with quail eggs, ham and hotdog sandwich, fruits, buttered shrimp, pork and squid barcecue and some desserts. Yummy… Wanna join us? :D
