Jovit Baldivino Made It

I was right!  Jovit Baldivino, the lad from Batangas won as the first grand winner of Pilipinas Got Talent.  I knew it from the day of audition when I heard him sing “Faithfully” and when he made Ai Ai delas Alas cried while watching him.  Me and my mom watched the program together and she asked herself “I wonder who will win”.  I answered her with no doubt “Its Jovit”.  She then asked, “Why did you know?”  I replied with “I just know”.  Jovit brought home the grand prize of 2 million pesos.  He was now being interviewed what he’s going to do with the money.  In full sincerity he answered… he will buy house and lot for his family, bring himself to school as well as his siblings.
Now the question is… if he’s going to push through his dream of going back to school when now that he’s receiving lot of offers from ABS CBN and Star Records?  Well… I guess he will but not into formal schooling but with sat prep or online studies which some schools offer now.  It doesn’t matter how he will do it.  I just hope that he will pursue his studies inspite of his coming stardom.  Because stardom can be taken away in just a snap of finger but education will linger as long as he live.

The Battle Goes On

I watched the last episode of the Semi Finals of Pilipinas Got Talent last Sunday and its Baguio Metamorphosis and Ingrid Payaket, also from Baguio were the last batch to join the Grand Finals on June 12 & 13 at Araneta Coliseum to be aired live via ABS CBN.  Ingrid also catched my attention because of herlovely voice.  And because she sang Broadway song “The Phantom of the Opera”.  I remember her singing “I’ll Give My Life to You” from the Broadway Musicale Miss Saigon during the audition.  I love Broadway songs!!!
I wonder who will hook the P2,000,000.00 cold cash prize for the first ever champion of Pilipinas Got Talent.  All the finalists are really talented and they are all deserving to win.  Guess the luckiest one  will be the one. :D

Pinays Go Hollywood

I was surprised when I knew that Vanessa Hudgens has a Filipino blood.  I became a fan of this gal when I watched her movie High School Musical. This 21-year-old star started singing at her early age, started in Musical theatre and became known after doing the said movie.  She came from a family of musicians.  I wonder if she likes chicken/pork adobo too.  Does she use “po and opo” when talking to elders?  Mmmmmm… :D

Another Hollywood star who has Filipino blood is Nicole Scherzinger, the lead singer of Pussy Cat Dolls, whose father is a Filipino.  she was raised in Hawaii but I’m not sure if with his father since her parents got separated when she waas 6.  But her mother moved to the US mainland with his stepdad and her sister.  Lucky enough that these pretty gals don’t need to treat acne for having such a beautiful and glowing skins.  I wonder if they ever think of visiting their roots here in Philippines.  I wonder if they’re exercising Filipino customs.   Filipinos really have an overflowing talents in different field all over the world.  I’m proud to be a Filipino.

The Next Arnel Pineda

The famous Britain Got Talent which made Charlie Green and Susan Boyles’stardom reached Philippines via ABS CBN’s Pilipinas Got Talent.  I surely enjoy watching this talent search as I do with American Idol.  The most entertaining part for me is the audition part.  Isn’t it funny to watch those trying hard millionaire and famous wannabe?  Hehehe…
The show’s judges are ABS CBN’s Boss FG, Commedianne AiAi Delas Alas (in her 40′s) and the queen of all media,Kris Aquino (on her late 30′s) who look younger than their age (might be using anti wrinkle eye cream to keep them look young).  On June 12 and 13 will be the judgement day.  It will be shown live from Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.  The one who got my attention is the siomai vendor Jovit Baldivino who sang ”Faithfully” and who sing like the internationally known Journey’s vocalist Arnel Pineda, which was discovered in YouTube.  Will he be the next Arnel?  Who knows?  Who is your bet?

Acceptance: For Happy Life

“I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am.”  This is the statement that Ricky Martin (the former Menudo member) posted in his Twitter.  I was surprised but not really shocked when I heard the news.  It happens to some male individuals.  It’s just that this adorable singer is popular so it was sensationalized.  I admire these people because they have the courage to admit to the public who they really are.

For instance, remember Rustom Padilla (Filipino celeb now known as Bb Gandanghari)? who joined Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) for the purpose of telling the public that he’s a gay?  After the announcement he lives a happy life now.  So I’m sure Ricky Martin will have the same.  He will live a worry-free and happy life with his twin sons.  To you Ricky, if ever you passed by my blog, I wanna tell you that I am proud of you to have the courage in admitting to the public even it may affect your profession. Pls. visit Manila once more.  We missed u a lot.  Mabuhay ka!!!  So you guys out there!  Accepting  the truth will set you free so go! go! go! :D
