Paquiao Against Clottey

Once again Philippines will be as one as Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao will step into the ring again for a fight against Ghana’s great boxer Joshua Clottey on March 13, 2010 (March 14 in Manila) in Dallas, Texas.  I remember I watched his last fight with Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico at the mall and witnessed the jumpacked and chaotic crowd when Pacman won the game.  I’m very sure that tv stands will be visible again in many clubs, malls, restaurants, barangays and other public and private places for people to watch the game of the pound for pound boxing king.  And once again, let’s pray for Manny to win this fight to bring pride to our country once more.  Goodluck Manny and God bless you.

Pacman Did It Again

The first Boxing Athlete who won 7 titles in different weight division… That is Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao!  Manny made us Filipinos famous again after winning the fight against Miguel Cotto, the boxing champ of Puerto Rico.  Manny arrived with a heroe’s welcome in Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) together with his team and family.  Inspite of the big amount that he is earning from it (I mean hundreds of thousands or even millions US dollars), Mommy Dionisia requested Manny (in tears and plead) to retire from boxing.  Because she’s already worried that he get hurt seriously on the next fight.  In my opinion, Mommy D was right!  He already made a history and he won’t be forgotten anymore by sports enthusiasts all over the world.  How about changing sports Manny?  How about going to Myrtle beach golf and learn the craft? In this sports you can retire in old age without getting hurt.  Right Mommy D?

I’m always at home whenever I watch Manny’s fights.  But this time, I was able to experience to watch at the mall.  I went to Robinson’s Metro East with my high school friend MetMet and discovered that they were airing the fight in a big screen thru a projector.  We watched and became teary eyed whenever the crowd applauses and shouting for Manny.   People now are expecting a Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight.  Do you think it will pushed through?

Another Title for Pacman

Manny and the Team Pacquiao headed to the United States of America few weeks ago to prepare for his fight against Miguel Cotto on November 15, 2009. Right now he’s in California for a rigid training with Coach Freddie Roach.  I’m sure his Eagle Creek luggage was packed with luck when he left the country.  He will try to snatch his 7th World Boxing Title from Cotto which is the Welterweight Champion.

I’m sure everybody will agree with me that Pacman is now very well-known not only here in the Philippines but all over the world especially with people who loves sports.  As a matter of fact he is now in the cover of Time Magazine Asia which made him the first Asian Athlete to be the cover of the said magazine. He was titled the “The Great Hope” because he gives people hopes in life.  He still can’t believe that he is now so famous when what he only wanted is to give his family a comfortable life. I salute you Manny for making us Filipinos proud.  Mabuhay ka Manny “Pacman” Pacquaio! and Good luck to your coming fight,  ”Pacquiao vs. Cotto, The Firepower”.

On Top of the World

I am not that very active person when it comes to sports but i learned to love mountain hiking/climbing.  I had this very unforgetable experience almost ten years ago when I was invited to go to Mt. Pulag border of  Buenget, Ifugao and Nueva Vizcaya.  I was mesmerized by this beautiful sceneries,  the trees, mountains, the clouds, not to mention the very soothing climate (around 6 degrees). You won’t even see a single steel buildings and motor vehicle (so it’s pollution free).

From then on the excitement is within me whenever I climb different  mountains because I know there is always a unique and indescribable experience to remember.  Like when we climbed Mt. Manalmon in San Miguel, Bulacan where we had to passed a cave full of bats to get to the peak and in Buntot Pangil in Laguna where you can find a very refreshing falls. I also had the chance to meet the locals in the area and mountaineers from different places.  And the most rewarding of all is the indefinable feelings whenever I’m on the peak of the mountain.  It feels like I’m on the top of the world.
