EDSA Revolution’s Silver Anniversary

It’s been 25 years now after the successful and very peaceful People’s Power at EDSA.  I remember I was only 15 years old then.  Being a teen, I was not allowed to go to EDSA that time.  But I watched everything on tv.  People from all walks of life were there.  Rich, poor, middle class, nuns, priests, soldiers, emergency medical assistance were there too.  Filipinos that time want changes by ousting the dictator ex-president Ferdinand Marcos.

Just recently, it happened again in Egypt.  It was a bloody one but still successful.  The president went down.  But as of this writing, citizens of Libya are on chaos.  They also want changes.  But unfortunalety their president doesn’t want to lose his power.  Many people already died, many were hurt.  Sad to say that many Filipinos are there.  Some were even being hostaged by the Libyans.

Please let’s all pray for their safety.

Let’s all pray for world peace.

Pagsanjan Church

This pic was taken on the 1st day of the year 2011 when we visit the church first before spending overnight at the Pagsanjan Falls Lodge in Laguna.  As we enter the chursh there was a book to sign in.  I found out that since it’s a tourists destination it serves as a logbook for all the tourists in the province.
From the outside, the church looks kinda old though it was newly painted, it’s structure is old fashioned. Inside, it’s kinda modernized already.  The floors are tiled (good thing we won’t be needing a Mesothelioma lawyer) and walls and ceilings are painted white which made the church tidy looking.
It’s always nice to take pics to the places I’ve been. :)

Club Balai Isabel, Here I Come!

Tomorrow will be the day to conquer Club Balai Isabel in Talisay, Batangas as we will be holding our closing of financial reports.  I searched the internet and discovered that the place is like a paradise.  And just now, I was informed that the newly weds Oyo Sotto and Kristine Hermosa and Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez held their weddings there.  Too bad that it’s too late to buy phentermine for me to wear sexy swimsuits.  Hahahahaha….  For my readers…. wait for the snaps. :D

New Year Escapade

This picture was taken last January 2, 2011 when we had our New Year escapade.  Me and my family decided to go to Pagsanjan City Laguna and stayed in Pagsanjan Falls Lodge. We first dropped by at the church and lucky enough that an image from Mexico was there to visit the Philippines.  We thank the Lord for the safe trip. I was amazed by the boat pulling the 12 boats going to the falls.  I wonder if it’s loaded by honda generators.
We were not able to sail to the falls because it’s quite expensive.  It costs 1,300 each.  Maybe next time if the budget permits; :D  But we had a great time swimming overnight.  The water temperature is just enough for us to dip long time at night.  My son, nephew and niece really enjoyed the trip, so with me. Hope to go back there soon.

My Beloved City, Marikina

Memories of Marikina just came to my thoughts.  I remember the public market it used to have.  You can’t do the market without using muck boots because of the smelly and sticky muds all around the place.  But it’s different now.  It’s so clean, the streets are already covered with roof and you can even wear your favorite slippers without getting dirt.
Marikina is so different now.  It is so clean.  You won’t even notice that you are passing by the garbage transfer area because you won’t smell any bad odors.  As a matter of fact it won as the cleanest city in the Philippines few years back.  The only negative aspect it has today is the dying shoe industry.  With the new elected government officials,  I hope the shoe industry
in my city will bloom again and regain the title “The Shoe Capital of the Philippines”.
