First Night in Hong Kong

We arrived in HongKong International Airport or colloquially known as Chek Lap Kok Airport.  That was 9:00 in the evening and we were 25 minutes earlier.  We were eleven and all first timers in HK.  So can you imagine how it goes??? Hahahaha… Luckily there are signages on how to get to the immigration department.  We toed the line… presented our passports to the officer and woolaahhh we were given 14-day visa.  It’s not important though, we will leave after 3 days after all.  Ok we passed the immigration… now the real adventure began.

We didn’t know which exit we’ll be heading to the bus station going to Mongkok MTR station.  Because from there it will be walking distance from the hostel we booked in.  I saw an information desk.. I fall in line and waited for my turn.  Good thing that the staff was so accommodating and led us to the right exit.  As we board on the bus, we didn’t know that the bus won’t give us change as we don’t have smaller bills yet.  Ok, I lost HKD 18.00 for that first night. :(

I told the driver to alight us to Mongkok MTR station and he said, ”Ok”.  I stood once to asked the driver if we were there yet.  He replied, “Not yet”.  I sat back and relaxed.  It’s over 45 minutes already and we are still in the bus, my brother approached the driver and to my dismay we passed by two stations.  Did the driver understand me at all???

We jumped off the bus go down to the MTR station as we were instructed.  Another problem… how can we get tokens??? Hahahaha…  We were like contestants in a reality tv show “Amazing Race”!!! Luckily this old lady cleaner helped us even though she don’t know how to speak English.  And good thing that my son’s Mandarin lessons helped a bit. :) We were then in Mongkok station… then what next???  We don’t know which exit to go to…  We exited anyways and wandered around the city at 12 midnight… Hahahaha!!!  How I wished I could buy hdmi cables, tie ourselves and glide from the airport to the hostel.  Hahahaha…

Ok we reached the Hong Kong Budget Hostel inMongKok at around 1:00 in the morning just to meet this sooooo unaccomodating owner  of the guesthouse!  His name is Jacky Chan and he is not so nice though his place is clean and nice, didn’t feel the hospitality of this person.  I just thought Hong Kong nationals are like him.   We were checked in, paid the amount of HKD344.00 each for 3 nights.  Mr. Chan led us to our respective rooms and called it a night.

The Long Waiting Is Over

I didn’t able to catch a sleep for the whole day and now still eyes are widely open.  You know why?  The long awaited dream vacation of mine will come true tomorrow.  Yes!  Tomorrow is our flight to Hong Kong.  Finally!!!  This would be my first time to go out of the country and I am so excited!  But Sean is more excited than me.  He slept early tonight and told me that he gonna wake me up early.

I was able to secure an autority to travel abroad from our regional director and there noted that it can’t be use for employment purposes while we were thinking of applying for a cleaner jobs. No, I’m just kidding.  Well I used to apply for a job abroad but thinking that I’ll leave my son… I started crying… So how in the world I’ll leave Philippines without my precious one? And since he’s with me in this trip….Hong Kong Disneyland.. Here we come!!! God please bless our trip. Amen.

Rice All We Can

Yes!  That’s what we did when Sean and I dined out on my birthday.  It’s not so special since we eat in Mang Inasal once in a while…(Sean left me the decision on where and what to eat ‘coz he said it’s my birthday) :)  I ordered.  Maybe we’re both in the mood for eating that’s why we ate 3 servings of rice each!  After eating we almost can’t move. Hahahaha… The service in the said food chain is generally good and maybe they will improve their service when they use Aldelo System.  And for the gift for my birthday?  I bought a new set of wireless microphone so that I can practice my singing prowess. Hehehehe…

My Biggest Dream

Trip around the world is my biggest dream.  My passport expired twice and renewed not even being used.  But this will break the curse! Hahahaha… We are going to Hongkong this October and I am so excited as if I want to fast forward my suunto watch!!! But I know time flies really fast and four months preparation is too short.  Anyways I still have to save money for all the awaiting expenses. Hehehehe…

As a first timer, I am quite nervous and excited.  No, it’s not my first time to board a plane, but it’s my first time to step on a foreign land.  Excited ‘coz I know it would be a great adventure of my life.  I’ll be travelling with my son (he’s so excited to see Disneyland as much as I do), my eldest brother and his family, an officemate and her family and a friend.

If anyone there been or who live in Hongkong who happened to read this post, please give me some advice where to stay and where to go.  Thanks in advance.  God speed!

Spa Experience

I had a wonderful experience last Saturday night.  A very generous friend of mine, Moises treated us (Sarah and I) at Seven Senses Spa in Antipolo.  We don’t have a plan then, it’s just happened. Since I am a spa addict (home service), I didn’t second thought of trying the spa.  Since this is our first time, we acted so naive inside the hub, as in we don’t know what to do first.. Hahahahaha…

Then somebody accompanied us to the locker room.  We were given towels, led us to shower rooms and told us that we can dip in their jacuzzi.  But since we’re in a hurry (it’s already past 1 in the morning) we just took a shower, wore the robe and headed to the Aroma room.  Sarah and I chose the couple room while Moises in a single room.

I was kinda disappointed when the massage only lasted for 45 minutes (supposedly 1 hour). Then afterwards we were given some drinks.  I had coffee while Sarah had iced tea.  We failed to go to the steam bath (I wonder if they use infrared heater) due to time constraint.

When we left the room, Moises was already waiting for us at the lobby with bills paid!  I wanna thank Moises for giving us this wonderful spa experience.  More power to you and God bless!!!
